My brain just exploded. Improvising a bass line while singing runs, and both melodies are incredible and in counterpoint. Bach would be proud.

@bayareamagic - I was at this performance, and I have to say that she was not one of my favorite performers THAT DAY. However, for me, that had a lot to do with choice of song and arrangement. True, she probably can't stand up to the best vocalists - the past "greats", but I love her musicianship and overall talent. I really respect true musicians in this day and age. Can't wait to check out her CD.

Ok just to make sure ...Color , tint , has nothing to do with this right. people are actually listening to her Voice right ? and comparing it to other past Greats. Just wanted to make sure. I will keep an open mind for the next 5 songs...
