Martin Newell performs Sugar Cane, in an excerpt from the 1st Golden Afternoon. Recorded live at the Colchester Arts Centre in the summer of 2003. Martin is joined by Nelson on mandolin & Paul Rutterford on guitar and backing vocals. The film was produced & directed by Michael Cumming.

  • Ive listened to martin for 15 years. He's a high calibre writer and player. Seems to not go over here in the states that a shame. His work with Andy Partridge is legendary.Thnx for sharing it

  • This really captures the whole 'Golden Afternoon' vibe. I wasn't there for the first one, but I've been to subsequent ones.
