i had this bug too. it happens when you pick a new ball too near the limits and it appears out of them. Then you play the level with no ball

I have also met this bug, but I don't remember : if you get a new ball and you lose it, do you lose a pad or not ?

Nope ... to my mild astonishment, the ball just zipped by me and I didn't blow up ... I was just allowed to take my time and pick off the bricks, one by one at my leisure. So weird. Wish I'd had the hypercam running to show the ball getting by me ... but yeah, as you can see there was no freakin' ball in play. Wish more levels were like that one. :P
