  • @candypoppy10 and I could listen to your Irish accent all day, don't change a thing!

  • @suzannesadiiqa well i would love to but i'd sound so ridiculous, since i'm pure irish ;) i do pronounce in a posh irish accent if i'm on the phone for something official, but thats about it. still love that well spoken english accent tho. i could listen to it forever :)

  • @candypoppy10 Hello there, don't just wish, do something about it! start with self improvement books and if possible, take elocution lessons...

There is nothing wrong with a regional accent but to get your ideas across and to be taken seriously is a great help in life and requires that you speak grammatically and clearly and it this is well worth working for. Good luck.

  • I can see why the British version of WDYTYA is far superior to the American one.

  • @LIVERLADD The irony of all ironies that John Creggie`s present relative can be found with the same name, Living in the same area and working for the RNLI . Amazing Our roots truly make up what we are.

How it an irony? It's old-fashioned to name your kids the same as relatives and for them to stay in the same line of work but hardly ironic. And the rareness of it these days makes far less of a case for our roots making up what we are, although people try to find traits in common.

  • You are right, he has a fabulous voice. Hadn't thought about it until I read your comment. But so right.

  • @catnipnbone He does have a marvelous voice, doesn't he? I too love listening to David. And trying to understand another comment, regarding "well spoken" English accent (sort of a contradiction),,,,,. I am not sure what the comment means, but David just sounds better than most others, lol, when he speaks. I simply love his voice.

  • @GirLInSecondLife Royal National Lifeboat Institution. It's a charity that runs the lifeboat search and rescue for the UK and, I think, the Republic of Ireland :)

  • @LIVERLADD What is the RNLI -- for those of us who are not British? Royal Navy something?

  • And yet, learning to swim was considered a bad thing for sailors at the time...
