Take a ride in my car along the A861 from Inversanda to Ardgour, over the Corran Ferry towards Fort William. I do this trip most weeks and on days like this, it's breath taking.
The background music is taken fromthe album 'Legacy' by the Old Blind Dogs. (1995). The 1st song: Tibbie Fowler/Breton Dance Tune, 2nd: The Rose and the Lyndsay O'. The band members at the time: I.F Benzie: Lead singer/guitar; Jonny Hardie: Fiddle/guitar/vocals; Davy Cattanach: Percussion/vocals; Buzzaby McMillan: Elec. Bass/vocals/D.Whistle.

  • Thanx for a splendid run in my favourite part of scotland, Cant wait to see applecross

    Cheers

    Dave

  • Hi Dave

i did take some footage of applecross but it was really wobbly, couldnt fix my camera to the sprinter, (which is my pride and joy, i have made it into my new camper van!) no mirror! hope to have that solved soon...

  • Actually on the single track, only about 30 and on the main road, no more then 60, I am more conscious of my own mortality since the accident, I do not want to end up in another gully. I will film Applecross in the summer or maybe at Easter if the weather is good. Mx

  • well with only the view of the back of the lorry, I edited it a bit!! Perhaps next time I will show the view coming from the other direction, but the camera was stuck to the mirror, and it is only a 5 minute ferry ride. It gets much busier in the summer, just how much, I have yet to find out. Mx

  • Thank you for such a great video. Reminds me when we drove from Oban to Tain along Ness. Hope to go back in Set 2011, if not it will be Sept 2012. I live in New Hampshire, USA. Some things here in the mountains seem similar except the driving. I learned that when I am told it takes 10 minutes to go some place in Scotland that I double the time for me! Ha

  • This is awesome, the drive and the incomparable Old Blind Dogs.

  • this is great! Thank you!

  • Thanx for posting!

  • Well done! Thank you.

  • Wonderful country. I stayed across the street from the ferry on the Ardgour side of the loch for a few days over the summer. Beautiful country, can't wait to come back.

  • Preferred this music! Now, what spped were you doing?!!!

Now to do the Applecross mountain road - both ways!!
