I don’t think “legalizing” cannabis (hemp/marijuana) will put the cartels out of business. Legalization sounds like incremental corporate takeover of the cannabis industry via government legislation

We need repeal of an unconstitutional law that has filled our prisons with nonviolent cannabis users. The prohibition against marijuana was unconstitutional from its inception. We don’t want legalization of marijuana which leaves the government to control and regulate it. Thomas Jefferson was a hemp farmer. There are documents in Library of Congress where George Washington states that he liked sitting on the back porch smoking a pipe of hemp. people used to pay their taxes with hemp!

@cliffsearch Millions of people use marijuana for recreation safely , there not all bad people , its alcohol and prescription drugs that are killing . And your right I am a recalcitrant but only when it comes to marijauna and hemp. Not everyone thinks like you either right now the polls show roughly 46% of people in the US want it legalized . @cliffsearch HEMP = cannabis ruderalis no value for getting high, only good for clothing,food, oil,plastics, hempcrete, ect. Marijauna= cannabis sativa/indica gets you or me high. Same family yet very different properties. The govt makes no distinction between the 2 and its really a shame, Hemp (not for smoking)used to be the largest cash crop in the US and maybe the world until petro based everything came along. Legalizing hemp and getting high off marijuana are 2 totally different things. Fuck thinking outside the box you should try thinking at all. I am just amazed that people are so stupid, as to think that legalization of pot would lead to more usage and/or more driving stoned. Weed is the easiest drug to get already, and people who want it already get it, so legalization will not increase usage. Driving impaired is already illegal, yet thousands die from drunk driving already. Most people that are scared of stoners have never smoked weed.
