Errol Flynn will remain forever one of the most underrated and natural actors of all time and I bet he would have been brilliant in any era unlike some great actors who do not handle different periods. Lizabeth Scott remains one of my all time favourite stars and despite her limitations she always brought something special to her roles and made them memorable. even in this scene look at how graceful he lights those cigarettes, his grace from working a trapeze showing there. The most coordinated actor ever, even more than Flynn, but Flynn, despite his reputation was a far more gifted , subtler actor. He reminds me of Paul Newman in that sense: both either tried too hard or usually just were not good enough. Look at how Newman looks foolish next to the rest of the actors in the Hustler: Gleason, Lancaster: Fredrick March??March makes him look bad.

Lancaster was a fairly bad actor: but Elmer gantry fit him like a glove. He was great in that and not much else: even in 7 days in may, the others make him look wooden and overacting. Oh, and Atlantic City he was just about right for that. Otherwise he didnt act, he WAS, and that was of his was a fantastic physical presence. Nobody ever ate up the screen with his hands like he

Nice touch when Burt is looking poitedly at HER, when he sez "she was a beautiful woman" Darn good test!
