  • Does the wall next to the turbine hinder or help with power generation?

  • @derman077 In my case it was blocking most of the wind, so it was moved to a different area. But I could see how in some cases it would help to concentrate the wind. Thanks for the question, Lonny

  • Greetings, are you designing and building these yourself or working from plans? The reason I'm asking is if you've done any research on things like number of vanes, power (torque) vs wind speed, etc. I'm really starting to get interested in wind power and verticals seem to be the most practical for my situation..

  • Hello, I just built them off of the top of my head. I should have done research first, because most of my first designs did not work at all. Thank you for the question, Lonny.

  • nice work. what sort of power could you expect from something like this?

  • With a geared ratio, I get about 14 volts out of it in a nice wind. Hope that helps

  • Great consideration of Aerodynamics...

  • Good work . can you tell me what RPM you record on your turbine. and min. RPM is required for generate the elec. power

  • I want to make a vawt using stove pipe - I wonder if the stove pipe has a special name thats already in halves?

@supergokue1 Was the stove pipe in halves. When i'm looking around i see stove pipe cut on one side only. Just wondering if there was a specific name for it. Been searching a few times at local hardware shops to no avail..

  • Thanks for the reply. Been debating about buying some books hoping I find what I need or just building some scale models for testing with a stable wind source to save wasted effort. Looking forward to any other ideas you put up.

  • Thx for the reply.

    It helped, hehe.

    Keep up the good work

    Greetings

    Erik
