This group was from New York, the Bronx, I think. Group was Fred Orange, Benito Travieso, Rapheal Diaz, Harry Hilliard, Joe Robles. The middle 3 were in the Minors (Celeste/Mello). There was a Johnny Pope & Excels from Philadelphia and he did disappear, but this is a different group. Thanks, Dennis - ultimatevocalgroup

the excels were a group out of philly i think. the lead was a kid name johnny pope who vanished without a trace one day after a recording session. he had a boxer friend name eddie cero, found out that johnny had a darkside and some people were loking for him thus the reason for his going on the lam suddenly. anywat they had a great sound. there's alot more to the story. but lets stick to the music. boston johnny c.
