Mark Weisbrot spoke on a panel with Greg Craig, a foreign policy advisor to Senator Barack Obama; Nora Lustig, a visiting Professor at the Elliot School of International Affairs; and, Mark Schneider, who is Senior Vice President and Special Advisor on Latin America at the International Crisis Group. • I just realise your post was from 1 year ago. How did it go? I was going to suggest to tackle a specific example of intervention that your prof. believes best exemplifies his bizarre theory, (maybe US intervention in Cuba against the Spanish -and crucially also against Cuban wishes- in 1898?) and go from there? :)

  • very useful video

  • as hispanicuscorpus said. U.S invation of LatinAmerica was to control the development and grow of LA, but keep in mind it has all been, or it's been with dominating intencions. anyway. Eventhough the Us goverm impary acctitud, OUR GPVERMENTs are much worst for have let US get into even since the the begining. actually, they let the english and then, let the americans get into. so.. both goverments have suspicious intentions.. but which is worst? al least us govr care about its own people.

  • that is easy,U.S invation of LatinAmerica was to control the development and grow of LA..intalling puppet goberment(nicaragua, chile,Venezuela,Dominican Rep, Cuba,Panama etc) so they can project they own agenda and intereted not ours.

  • Im wirting a paper on US foreign policy in latin america and my professor thinks US interventions were to liberate and democratize these countries somehow i have to prove him wrong.

  • Thank you for this video. It's things like this which makes me believe the hype about new age learning isn't just hype! This kind of access to information and thought is really quiet awesome :)
