The argument about who would win is stupid. A grizzle bear could probably kill a cougar if it came to it, but the bear would sustain many injuries in the process. This would result in the bear being weaker and less capable of surviving. In the wild, predators usually back down unless the kill is easy because they won't risk injury. That is what happened, the cougar is just tough enough.

@sunseray69 True, but on the same token, according to "The Great Bear Almanac", a grizzly bear can take down a bull American bison (those things can top out at 2,000 lbs!) with one swipe of his paw. And unlike the stealthy cougar, the grizzly bear doesn't need to ambush his prey. He just walks up and hits it in the face. Still, I don't like how Marty Stouffer faked these videos. The stream in the background at 00:25 showed that this video was spliced. We never even saw the cougar with the cubs.

The video may be a fake but keep in mind that cougars can take down a 1000 lb moose all by themselves. There really are no rules in nature.

@Fallonay I think you were being serious.....But its okay these things are extremely misleading...This isn't a real fight ( hence how you see the bear shake his head...as in a trained maneuver) these are 2 captive animals used for footage.
