They broke up. It had to do with the contracts they were offered. Their lawyer said they'd lose their shirts if they signed. The group that did become the Ohio Express apparently took a financial hit, due to the contract they signed. Then the accident (A couple of the guys were in a car that was broadsided.) just plain put a halt to any further recording efforts. Most of the band is still around our area of Ohio, doing other things.

that would have been around 68, this particular scene was filmed in surrey.

The video had nothing to do with the recording. The song was recorded in Cleveland, in June of 1967, but released later. The group's name was The Streys, not Strays.
I kind of appreciate that you've put this up, because although I had heard of it, I had never HEARD it. My husband was in an accident that effectively ended his singing career. All copies were given away. Now at least I can say I've heard his music.

thanks, yeah, i edit all the videos for these rarities i post...i think it is listed as strays on a couple comps., but that happens a lot...so, what became of the band......
