Reasons why I have to watch this movie:
1) 1:45 "Donald Sutherland as Homer Simpson"
2) Great cast (Karen Black, Donald Sutherland, William Atherton, the chick who played Medusa from the Rescuers, and a young Jackie Earle Haley? Hell yes!)
3) This is an AWESOME trailer!
And most importantly:
1:45 Donald Sutherland as HOMER *freaking* SIMPSON!

He has a major role, although you might not recognize him because he plays a child whose stage-mother insists on trying to pass him off as a girl to cash in on Shirley Temple mania. His character is vividly hateful and meets an unforgettable fate.

Wow, what an artfully misleading trailer, suggesting you're going to get something a lot more glamorous than a very depressing (but excellent) portrait of industry fringe-dwellers during Hollywood's Depression "golden age."

Hollywood is the worst place I've ever lived

This film along with the book puts a chill down my spine.. It exposes what Hollywood really is all about-exploitation. Hollywood uses, abuses and chews up many people because these people are basically commodities to used and thrown out.
Look at how many celebrities end up drug addicts or kill themselves. Parents who force their children in this business should be arrested for child abuse.

@robatsea2009 Cool, thanks for the heads up. (^_^) Can't wait.
I'm on a Jackie spree and this movie looks killer. He wasn't in the trailer though, so I'm curious, how often does he show up in this? Still gonna watch it regardless (love me some daddy Sutherland what)

@chaosjester It's been a number of years since I've seen the film but from what I recall Jackie appears briefly a few times and then significantly in one scene late in the film that serves as a catalyst for the climax
