From May to July 2005, government security forces launched a program of housing and informal business demolition that displaced approximately 700,000 people.

The evictions and demolitions were carried out without adequate notice, court orders, due process, legal protection, redress or appropriate relocation measures; in violation of Zimbabwe's obligations under international human rights law.

Four years later, the authorities have failed to provide an effective remedy to the victims and, as a result, many continue to be at risk of being forcibly evicted from both their homes and their informal businesses.

  • @tuipale Thats not true, I know atleast 6 people who have already fell for this... Get your facts straight.

  • stop posting this kind of shit videos! no1 is going to fall on this! government is getting like 10tril every years and these poor ppl gets 10dollars! fuck you usa

  • Nobody in the video says anything about WHY the government is carrying out these demolitions. The pattern of demolition described by the couple in this video sounds absolutely irrational! To solve a problem one first has to understand WHY that problem exists.
