Yes, it is fast, and musical, and exciting. It is also fast because SHE CAN. All of the greatest pianists are/were fast players. No need to apologize, or be envious, nor jealous. Just enjoy the magic, the fire. If not, don't listen. There are plenty of other "correct" and common versions...some actually very beautiful, indeed!

Yes ! I'm sure Prokofiev would more than enjoy ! how exciting this concerto is one of my favorite ! it's better than any chocolate coffee : it's a super stimulant if you feel tired or exhausted, just listen to the grand and beautiful Martha here:) !

Prokofiev himself played it this fast if not faster. In fact there's some audio of his doing so on this site.
