You are supposed to learn that the political situation in 1930's was unacceptable the gov't was neglicting the needs of the people, blaming the situation on the economics of the time. The story tells ordinary people that they can stand up and change their lives. The CCF started with a manifesto and no money. Candidates did what they could to get elected and in 1944 the CCF swept to power in Saskatchewan and embarked on a 20yr rule changing the lives of the citizens for the better
