FOR THOSE ASKING ABOUT GIVING, Link here http://www.tibetanphotoproject.com/SuRaj_beyond_Slumdog_Millioniare.html

Please read this whole notice on this video - To those asking about sponsoring Raj: We filmed this on our visit in Jan. 2010.

We are currently working with out contacts to locate him and also determine a proper NGO working in the region to handle your support.

We are happy to go back on your behalf if you want to sponsor the trip. Serious inquiries for any part of this effort can be emailed to us directly with INDIA in your subject line. thetibetanphotoproject@yahoo.com

In India, between 17 million and 60 million children survive alone on India's urban streets.

While we were having a chai on the roof at a Tibetan restaurant in Mcleod Ganj, 11-year old Raj walked up to us with an outstretched hand and introduced himself.

We listened to his story for a while and asked if we could interview him so others could hear it.

This amazing young man of the streets speaks 4 languages and is brilliant well beyond his years.

You will hear in this video both hope and you will hear that there is no hope.

  • This is a wonderful clip I managed to stumble upon. A job well done & these kinda "humans" should be discovered and shared. Ever since my 1st job, I have silently searched & helped families called "pulanno" in Sri Lanka. It means: decent families (very poor) with kids where when the bread winner dies, the wife & the kids become so helpless. They can't beg, no relatives, no friends. People try t take advantage from people like this. And there are cheap humans who use them. Hats off to you guys!

  • @INDImind, Thank you and we hope you will share. We feel this boy's voice gives voice to millions...

  • He has a bright future ahead of him.

  • @RaahRay, we are sorry to say, its not that simple and sadly while many have looked and said nice things there has been little real help.

  • @IndiaTravelFilms well I'm sorry to say this too, but I certainly was not talking about his "now" or the help that will provide him with a bright future. I was looking beyond. He is extremely intelligent and perceptive and although I'm will never be certain about this, the boy has the potential, determination, and motivation to make a bright future for himself.

  • @RaahRay, Right now I can tell you the details of his personal life since the interview are a long way from bright. The bottom line is people have to do more than offer nice thoughts and motivational internet posts. A friend of mine said, you cannot save the Children but you can safe a child... if you commit.

  • @nilesh1nilesh unfortunately, since we know the full story on this boy that no one who stopped here actually tried to help, your assumption is sadly very wrong. People need other people to step up and actually help.

  • its a purity of genes........i can beg but i can not steal.-----it takes generations to have clean genes.------i m not worried for this young boy b coz he has pure genes. he will b happy/content in his life. pls dont look from the materialistic point of view. his DNA will find something for him.

  • It chocks your heart !! If you wish , you can learn any how ...no matter what your background is......! This shows the courage and hunger to improve , to learn in life ! No offence but this street kido can speak english way better than some Asian people I have seen working here in UK !

  • @perfection202 thanks and at 14, yours is a great attitude. When you can, I hope you plan to travel, but just remember, anyone you meet will have more to offer you than you can ever offer them Please check out The Tibetan Photo Project and tell friends. Also there is a link in the information where you can help now if it fits your personality.
