This clip shows Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr leaving Burlington, IA behind as it crosses the Mississippi River into Illinois on the BNSF mainline. April 6, 2009
@yonowomo No, The bridge strength is NOT compromised and the train was probably under slow orders, FYI, It's common for trains both passenger and freight to proceed across bridges at reduced speed.
Another great video. I just watched one of your other ones. I love this one because I feel like I'm the one on the train -- LOL. I really enjoy seeing scenery from other towns around the country, too.

Is the bridge strength compromised? Why is the train so slow?

The swing bridge across the Mississippi has now been replaced by a Lift Bridge.

What's funny is I live in Burlington and I keep saying, "Oh man, I know where that is!"
