Im want to make windows 7 look like linux !!!!!!!
-
Believe it or not, I setup a win7 look under a 'guest' account on my computer for people (mainly family members) who aren't familiar with Linux. If they borrow my laptop, I'd rather not deal with the gripes and have them just use the computer in a fashion that is familiar to them. They already use Chrome and Open Office, so it is hardly a stretch. Silly, yes - but, just goes to show the power of Linux.

@jesuisbenjamin what a moronic idea, to use windows because of how it looks! Windows is a crappy unstable OS, so if you're familiar with it and don't know anything about linux, the better is to start using linux looking like windows and bye bye blue screens!!!

@TheMitsaras98 The other response to your comment wasn't fair. Ubuntu gives the option to install all of those during installation, so his argument is invalid, ubuntu is more widely used, so has more support, it has unity desktop by default, but like other distro's can install other desktops.
It's hard to say, but i'd personally go to ubuntu to start... there's a reason it's the most popular distribution of linux out there...

@jesuisbenjamin because winblows is slow compared to linux ,but some people think windows looks better, . well think so compared to the stock lxde or a distro such as mint

YOUTUBECEPTION!!!

@jesuisbenjamin Who said they like Windows? People who have never stepped outside of Windows don't have anything to compare it to, and can't see that its a vulnerable, unsecured, regurgitated OS in flashy clothes. Put those same clothes on a mature and secured OS, and its the best of both worlds.

thanks windows 7 MAY BE THE COOLEST

@TheMitsaras98 mint is better for beginners but ubuntu has more flexibility after you get some experience.

@TheMitsaras98 mint and ubuntu are only different in very minimal ways. Mint has a slightly different appearance setup and has a few things already set up that Ubuntu doesn't. I recommend mint for you. (Oh, and don't get mint debian edition just yet, it's a little more complicated)

@TheMitsaras98 Mint is good to start with because it has the "codecs" installed already. In case you are not familiar, codecs are the little pieces of code that allow the playback of media files (for example mp3s dont play on Ubuntu by default) so Mint is a solid choice :)

What a moronic idea, it's like disguising your girlfriend like a dude. If you like Windows so badly, why not use it?

@jesuisbenjamin I did this to show how "tweakable" Linux was and to trick my friends into thinking I was running Windows :)
