I've self-published two novels and made a success of both. Here's my perspective on self-publishing, looking past all the negativity and seeing something that authors and readers should be excited about.

  • A traditionally published author doesn't have to "interview" himself in his bedroom.

  • @Brytticism Make whatever comparison you want, but 2000 books sold through my own steam means something, whatever way you look at it.

  • I woulnt care if the book is published and sold in millions or its a little known as long as its good. And i have those two David Icke books too, they are pretty good though i don't agree with a lot he sais, at least hes hones about what he believes and thinks :P

  • @cyberdaemon I've changed my mind about David Icke a LOT since making this video. :-)

  • Cartels (married monopolies) rule the planet.

  • A Very positive message. Thank you for your views and encouragement to people's creativity, and from the heart, not for the product. The author's judges are not the editors but the readers. Well put. And self-publishing as the salvation of publishing. Interesting and, at their advent, points to powerful possibilities for ebooks.

  • Hello sir! lol I want to read thet book!

  • not anymore, self publishing is now in fashion. Even established authors are going self publishing route.

  • I got a little emotional when you talked about writing from the heart. :,) It also made me think of authors like Roald Dahl and Neil Gaiman. I'm pretty sure Neil Gaiman has a publisher idk? Yeah but even if both of them did that's not really the point. You can tell that they have written very creative stories, and put out what's in the heart rather than product for money. They obviously worked very hard and put a lot of effort into their novels.

  • I mean, to me personally writing a book is frighteningly similar to having and raising a child. Of course that doesn't mean you shouldn't let people critisize it but still, it's an odd and yet wonderful experience. When one feels like mama/papa bear and someone comes close and analyzes your cubs, it can be kind of scary. It may seem like a weird comparison but I think it's true. ;]

  • Getting a publisher can really suck because sometimes they will change your work and even change the title of your novel and take out whole chapters because they personally didn't like it. They will make you or break you, so if you insist on having a publisher get someone you can trust. Who knows, maybe they'll be your best friend or something. lol Just someone you find nice and not too controlling. Especially if you're protective over your book, which I think a lot of authors are. :)

  • @rammsteingod666 Icke continually trafficks in rumour. His whole "Satan-worshipping paedophiles" thing is built on the back of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s, which he treats as something that was never debunked, happily using sources from that period that are not credible. The public loves to believe sensationalist bullshit, and plenty of money is made peddling false stories for profit.
