why in the world was the Walter Reed School on Washington Blvd reoutfitted to accommodate office spaces. To have remodeled it and opened it as an elementary school would have made much better sense. It's ridiculous to move all of the Arlington Traditional School children. There are much better ways to take care of this.

Arlington classrooms are "crowded" because the county sets a class size goal up to 30 percent lower than that required by the state. Even so, actual class sizes are dropping lower than that target in "crowded" schools because of the use of temporary class rooms. Fendley has been pushing the idea of a crisis just to further his personal agenda. He doesn't care about the thousands of kids who would be hurt, just as long as his neighborhood is taken care of.

New elementary space can also be created at the Wilson Building. Projections show the whole system reaching full capacity soon, so shuffling kids around is rearranging the deck chairs to no effect.
