Snm vs Faqash air force

According to Africa Confidential, the planes that bombarded Hargeisa and other cities come from two air force units. Somali pilots flew the Mig-17 and ex-Rhodesian air force pilots who now hold South African or British passports piloted the Hawker Hunters. According to Hargeisa residents these planes have been far more dangerous and effective than the silver-coloured Somali piloted Migs. Africa Confidential, 29 July, 1988. Vol.29 No.15.

The SNM were extremelly lucky to survired the full hit of the Somalia Air Force, cause dont forget the warfare were on it early enfant. It was a basic fire fight between the Siad Barre´s regime´and the oppositions. If Siad Barre had purchased the JDAM (Joined Direct Attack Munitions) or the Mk82 (Snake Eyes) from the Russians and Cubans forces for sure the out come will be different and by refusing to purchase these weapons Mr Barre gambled to the point of no return. It was a massive mistake.
