  • What exactly is OpenDNS? What are the advantages to it?

  • @JarrodJS A DNS, or Domain Name Server, is what translates the URL you put into your browser, into the IP address of the site, so you can contact it. OpenDNS has fast servers, and they cache things, which most likely makes it faster than your ISP's DNS servers. I did a speed test, and indeed OpenDNS is faster for me, when browsing the web.

  • Ya whats the song name?

  • so if i set up a website, and portforward it and then i would get a external ip form WAN ip from my router. then i enter this into my browser it will show my website, then setting up this dns would make it for everyone ***.***.***.*** to wwwmywebsitecom. but where do you set your website url?
