"His self-released albums are virtuoso showcases for Moore's popcentric vision and skill at screwing around with tape decks that don't always behave. Happy accidents make for unpredictable music in the hands of a man who never met a mistake he couldn't tweak to his advantage." - Wikipedia

"The title track is yet another of Moore's richly atmospheric instrumentals, this one a heavily-reverbed mood piece along the lines of Joy Division, or early Comsat Angels. One does wish that new wave revivalists would check out Column 88 to get a broader sense of what real new wave was all about."

  • this and cuss me out are his BEST instrumentals...art new wave stevie

  • @blefusku much, much more than that. whole volumes of Genius instrumentals from early 80s and late 70s! Plow through. The videos on Youtube are nothing but the TIP OF THE ICEBERG!

  • @autosam see, having listened to nearly all of his early tapes i still think of this as one of the best instrumentals... and there's of course the whole instrumentality, some piano lessons, andrea bliss, flight of fancy, cuss me out, heaven on earth, i don't think she knows, privacy...but on the other hand many of his instrumentals circa 81/82 sound more like unfinished drum/bass sketches or jams, interesting but not so great, this tip of the iceberg is of course the cream of the crop

  • @blefusku I disagree. Even though there's some sketchy stuff in the early 80s (and I don't mean only 81-82, but also the subsequent years), there's a lot of killer instrumentals spread out through those tapes. Ever heard "Crises"? "Trial & Error"?

And believe me, the tip of the iceberg is NOT the cream of the crop. It's part of it, but not the whole thing. Not even close.

  • @autosam by the way autosam, do you know why he left new jersey???

  • @blefusku cuz it smells.
