Tengo ese disco...actually it's a pretty good album, how did you discover Los Blops? If you like chilean rock from the 70s you should listen to Los Jaivas, they are pretty amazing, more like prog rock mixed with andean music. But I like los Blops, and this song is amazing.

Thanks for the comment! I found this song on a Chilean Psychedelic compilation album, called Love, Peace and Poetry, Chilean Psychedelic Music. It features songs from 1967 to 1973, and while all of them are good, this one really stood out. I put the record on while I was cleaning one day and when Los Momentos came on I knew I had to share it, after getting permission from Eduardo Gatti via email to use it on my vlog. Thanks for the music tip, I'll start researching now!

Güevones arrastrados, si un gringo encuentra esto bueno no cambia en nada la calidad. Los Blops es un grupo conocido y reconocido en Chile, y no tienen para qué mearse si un gringo se muestra abierto a esta calidad. Este no es un comentario nacionalista, pero estoy aburrido de esta actitud chupapatas y amariconada, de "ay que orgullo, un gringo encuentra esto bueno ..." WHO CARES!?

But what really is amazing, is that Los Momentos,was written en a few minutes,because the band has to complete the album,and need they the last song to be finished. Then Gatti ask to a girl, who was visit the studio, to see the recording to do a choir. Like every thing huge in the World the improvisation play a very important role. Pero lo mas increible es que Los Momentos se compuso en unos minutos,pues les faltaba una cancion para completar el Album,la chica del coro,solo visitaba el estudio.

Nada que ver longi, es bueno que una persona diferente le guste algo nuestro, nos hace conocernos mas en el exterior, si un negro de libia me dijera la misma wea, para mi seria el mismo honor, lo ridiculo es cuando solo es un honor pa los gringos, toda gente diferente que reconoce talento de otras nacionalidades, es gente ke kasha.

Yo ayudé a la reedición de los discos de los Blops a cargo de Shadoks Rec. en Alemania y con el dueño del sello-quien es alemán- hablábamos horas acerca de la calidad de las bandas chilenas, pero en ningún caso me dejé influenciar por su opinión a la hora de apreciar lo excelente de esta música.

A further comment: this is the earliest version of the song. You can hear the unmistakably Chilean pronunciation, with the final "s" being dropped off the end of the words. In later versions, Gatti took care of "internationalizing" his pronunciation and the "s" appeared once again (see post from DEADJAPAN, for instance).

Los Blops is one of the most underrated band of Chile. Many people in my country, Chile, don't know them, but Los Momentos is a song that all the chilean people know. I suggest you some beautiful songs of Los Blops for listen: Sambayé, Atlántico, Locomotora, Tartaleta de Frutillas, Pirómano, Campos verdes.
