Troops coming home for two weeks of R&R. This footage was taken on 4JULY2007 on the secure side of the airport. Most of the passengers waiting on flights had no idea what they were about to witness and ultimately take part in.

Mortari was a douchebag. I heard he got charged for what he did. Just like the lowlifes who perpetrated the crimes at Abu Ghraib. But the bottom line is that for every Mortari or Lynndie England, there are many more unsung heroes who sacrifice w/o asking for attention. Being a soldier doesn't necessarily make you a hero. It's a job. But just as it can bring out the worst in America, it can also bring out the very best.
