With music - as with everything else in life - you should always look for the best in everything. Yes, personal preference comes into it, to a degree, but the real beauty in it is finding something unexpected, but beautiful.
With music - as with everything else in life - there's reams of crap out there, it means looking until you come across a gem, something that makes you sit up and notice. Something that makes your ears prick and makes you say; 'Oh. That's amazing".
I love Alice Russell.

lol! i don't mean to burst your bubble but what you're hearing isn't from the mic on the camera. there is definitely compression, mixing and mastering on this recording. non-the-less, she is amazing.

I really hope she does get the widespread recognition she deserves; but sadly, alongside the rest of the Tru Thoughts collective - she seems destined to skirt the outer limits... If the Seven Nation Army cover didn't get her noticed by the general public, I have the concern that the rest of her material will be passed over as well. Criminal really.
Still though - if you're lookin' for incredible music - Tru Thoughts is the first place folks should look.
