obviously the nay sayers have no clue as to what they are talking about nor what they are seeing or even understand. demo's are simply that, demos...like kata. i have been training shotokan for 17 years and aikido for 6 years. i am yudansha in both.

The role of uke is important. he has one job and one job only. the demos that utilize simple techniques like age uke and gendan barai, mae geri and gyaku zuki are the most realistic. of course anything fancy will look hokey. so some of these comments pose the question...doesn't karate begin and end w/respect? obviously some on here are not following the Dojokun.

With all respect, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. This is a demonstration, and anybody with any experience has to admire the level of control and precision shown here.

@BradCurrence Although I really appreciate Kagawa sensei's technique, his demos are not that impressive, specially taking into account it IS a demo and he's being doing exactly this same demo for years and years. :(

For the guy that stated the Kagawa Sensei's partner is a slave, you clearly don't understand the purpose of an Uke. Please understand the kind of lifelong dedication this type of demonstration takes before judging.

Are you guys freaking kidding me? Do any of you guys know how long it takes to do any of these technique right? the way sensei Kawaga has performed here? It takes years and years of practice to do Ippon kumite, sanbon kumite, or jiyu kumite. See any of you guys can do his Mawashi geri, or, ora osheri geri with kind of control he has shown here? Please guys, RESPECT THE SENSEI.!!
