  • Thanks for your Jussi videos. I saw him in the fifties in Cardiff. People queued all day in the street to get in to his performance. He wasn't much to look at but that voice was absolutely awesome. He sang like a god. There is not a day that I don't listen to a few minutes of this great tenor. Listening to him is a life enhancing experience. It is great art.

  • Wunderlich sings this wonderfully but this God given voice of Bjorling is so awesome and beautiful it cannot be matched.

  • @302MarkVII New generations of swedes don´t seem to be that well informed on the fact that we once had a magnificent tenor called Björling. I am born -74. My generation is the last to know about him unfortunately....

  • Magnificent!

  • dollenberg-Next to Lemeshev I believe it to be a toss up between Wunderlich and Bjoerling. Gedda ws no slouch either.

  • Yes, a sort of Swedish melancholy, most notable when he sings in his own language. By the way, many would prefer the very young Jussi´s "För Dig Allén" before "For You Alone", how about you?

  • Jussi's voice had the melancholy tone that the others haven't.

  • Great performance even though I don't speak Swedish... Gedda, Lemeshev and Sobinov sang this one beautifully too.

  • Браво!!!!!Bravissimo!!!Russian soul!!!!

  • He s singing in Swedish. He was always better singing in Swedish. Listen to Namner ni sverige. U can hear the difference.

  • My favorite singer...
