Replacing text in a H1 with a logo image of the same text, or very similar text, is not black hat SEO, it's basic CSS design. By the way as an SEO "expert" your website uses tables to achieve your design and provides no content for those who can't see the flash banner. Hmmmm. And you have a flash banner? What the...?

I still think that the distinction between 'black' & 'white' hat SEO is meaningless because ultimately anything you do to deliberately improve your rankings is something that Google doesn't want you doing.
There are 'short' and 'long' term techniques, what you'd call 'black het' I'd just call short term cos it's probably gonna get nerfed.
Google wants us to build quality websites and then let nature take it's course. They don't support SEO depsite what people think.
I would also add our priority has been servicing our existing clients that inbound marketing brings in. If you're a growing service biz you need to understand how many quotes you can produce in a week..

@tonto I would not put a logo in a u2 as it serves no purpose to the user and sends a misleading msg to the bots. Re our own site. I built it when tables were cool and it ranks for our targeted phrases. The flash does not prevent ppl from seeing the site. Having said that we are launching a new one in jan.

Glad you raised the issue of singular and plural Jim. Why does Google differentiate so much between the two? Seems to me that people searching for dog training and training dogs are really searching for the same information..
Cheers,

Training Dogs could mean dogs that are used to help train people with injuries in recuperation or info on how to train dogs. Dog training could mean people looking for someone else to train their dog.
