EuroPean Car Fest 2008 @ Puerto Rico

The European car movement in Puerto Rico is almost nonexistent, but thanks to the teamwork of EuroCrewPR.com and SCCA, the first European Car Fest demonstrated true Euro enthusiasm last October at el Tuque, Ponce.
On an island of only 3500 square miles, the Euro scene proved to be strong, and the influence of true European style was really quite overwhelming.
The gates opened early for those who were participating on the track. The first event was the Performance Driving Experience, where expert drivers could race without an instructor. Later, the Ferrari Club of Puerto Rico arrived. It was escorted by a pace car - a Mk5 Jetta equipped with the TDI Cup body kit. The Ferraris were eager to tackle the track and gave spectators a couple of laps.
Meanwhile, cars continued to arrive and staff managed to organize each one by respective make and model. On the other side of the complex, spectators had the opportunity to watch cars compete in time trials.
Around noon, the Party Laps commenced. These were designed to give novice drivers the opportunity to drive on a speedway for the first time. Each party lap consisted of 30 European cars, with nine laps for only $6!
The best moments are those you never forget, and they included covering the hood of your car so everybody could sign or draw on it, the arrival of the orange Lamborghini Diablo, the Ariel Atoms giving a track demo and the huge convoys that made the journey more fun. And to make things even better, a final party lap took place with 45 cars and a drift show.
