  • It probably failed just because PlayStation 2 had the DVD feature. :P

  • Tehy won 96$ on launch

I'm not sorry for them, I'm just sorry they didn't develop a bit more. Some stuff they put into the dreamcast like that little mini-gameboy or whatever could have gona far (imagine farming stuff to win gold to a game you can later play on dreamcrast... how awesome would that have been?)

  • you forgot to add no dvd support. when it comes to console sale, japan is the main focus despite the fact there are western launch as well. when you lose japan, its pretty much over.

  • well done, the first time i've seen a report explain exactly what happened. Still a great system, Soul Calibur blew me away back then 9. 9 .99

  • EA sucks major balls

i dont care what anyone gotta say dreamcast was beast

sony playstation wasnt even that good of a consle

Sonic was a Awesome game WAY BETTER then Mario 64 at taking the 2-d version of a game and making it 3-D Mario 64 was just doom with Mario and no killing every thing in sight it offered no breakthrough graphical innovations.

It was totally awesome how all the cut scenes were all rendered in real time and not just FMVs.

Nintemdo claimed that the N-64 was a portable Silicon Graphics Workstation but the Dreamcast actually delivered on that claim and made it a reality.

  • It's like SEGA intended to make the Dreamcast fail by failing to build any copy protection into the system and game discs as far as EA goes EA just Sucks, their games all suck Maden games Sucked and had outdated graphics not up to par of what ever systems they were on and the cost was way to high. Sega's Football games on Dreamcast and other systems were way better then EA sports.

Tigerwoods Golf sucked, the grass on the courses looked like Astroturf or miniature golf simulated grass carpet.

  • It failed because Sonic Adventure was a broken, glitchy, boring, mediocre, poorly designed, and borderline unplayable title clearly rushed to market in a blind panic to avoid another Saturn. Even Sonic Adventure 2 fixing most of the problems was too little, too late. It was still no Mario 64. Everything else was fine--Skies of Arcadia, Ikaruga, Mars Matrix, Armada, Marvel vs. Capcom 1&2, Powerstone 1&2, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2, Rez, Space Channel 5, Virtual On 2, Rayman 2--except Sonic.

  • The Sega Dreamcast failed because Sega wasn't willing to work with it if it was inferior to the Playstation 2. Also with the bridges Sega burnt with the Sega Saturn, it lost so much support. If sega allowed the Dreamcast to be the low cost alternative to the other systems while it restructured itself, Sega would have been okay!
