  • AND ... [drum roll]... as a math teacher, you and your students will love..

    4) The Unexpected Hanging, or the Surprise Quiz Paradox - proves why it's impossible to give a surprise quiz. Or does it? Definitely one of the most hotly debated parodoxes by mathematicians, logicians, linguists, psychologists, philosophers and teachers/students.

  • Hey math major...

If you want to know the meaning of life, look these up...

    1) Goedel's Incompleteness Theorem - proves that we are doomed to ignorance

    2) Cantor's transfinite numbers (especially the Diagonal Proof) -- proved there are many infinities; been [mis]used to prove God; Cantor went insane

    3) Banach-Tarski theorem - proves that you can cut a sphere into 5 pieces, and reassemble them into 2 solid spheres of the same size as the first! Is this the answer to world hunger and poverty???

  • You have such an amazing screen presence and winsome personality that I thought for sure that you are a theater/communication.broadcast journalism major. Sorry for the gay stereotyping but I mean it as a compliment. Your facial expression, voice, delivery, etc made this a very engaging video and you'd do well in those fields. BUT ... as someone who taught calculus, I'm thrilled that you're a math major, and the nation definitely needs more math teachers.

  • the chessin smile at 6:16 is too darn cute (: loovveee it!!
