I read something about Ringo saying he's more than just a Beatle. His feelings are that people are sending mail about his Beatles work, not his later works. What he is trying to say is STOP BUGGING HIM about just "being a Beatle", what he wants is for him to be recognized as an entire person.

Seriously, he's done loads for charity and did stuff for people who actually need help and not to sign shit for people who want to sell it on eBay. Of course I'm sad I can't send him anything anymore, but Christ, it's hardly a sacrifice. We've got his amazing drumming in return, not only for the Beatles but also as a solo artist. Sure, I suppose we did make him stinkin' rich, but he made us a whole of a lot happier with his music. The debt, if there ever way any, is long repaid.
