The Smallville episode Kandor which shows a true glimpse at the Jor-El we know as well as flashbacks to Krypton where the family feud between Zod and Jor-El begins.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
There was a short glimpse of "another" reason Jor-El came to the Kent farm which was only briefly glanced at. I think Jor-El was looking at a stone or something

  • Great Commentary.

The Stones weren't the worst, The Kandor that Lara came from after having seen Kal as a baby, was destroyed before Kal was born.

And Lois left town because she was kissed? Ridiculous.

I agree that this is the least re-watchable of the episodes. Still, despite all that, a bad episode of Smallville beats a good episode of almost anythiung else.

I've watched it twice, and will probably watch it again before next episode.

  • see i don't mind watching the parts of the episode with jor-el in it again and again but the rest of it, it's like of like "Well, what's really worth watching over?" Julian Sands and the flashbacks felt like the highlight and the so called twist of the Kandorians being clones really didn't feel like much of a surprise at all

  • And another thing... if the stones of powerwere on earth in the days of margaret isabel theroux and duchess gertrude how did they get back to krypton and why were they brought back if they were only going to be sent right back and who hid the stones in their places????

  • a lot of people have been talking about that since the episode apparently. frankly, i think it's a little bit of discontinuity. since in season 4 the first stone was found in an ancient egyptian artifact, which means they've been on Earth for thousands of years

  • Since Zod doesnt have powers does that mean green kryptonite cant harm him? if so it would explain why clark wouldnt be able tokill him straight off.ollie better watch that ring of 'his' =P

  • well when clark had his powers taken away by blue kryptonite, he was able to hold green kryptonite against his uncle. but just because green kryptonite doesn't effect zod doesn't mean that clark can't kill him. he could burn him alive with his heat vision or crush his neck like a twig if he wanted to

  • Jor-El didn't hide the stones at the farm. I think he hid the book of Rao, which Zod and Faora both made references to in "Disciple." The orb can control Clark since it was irradiated with blue kryptonite, which means that any Kryptonian can be affected and lose their powers. Jor-El sent it to earth before Krypton was destroyed with Kal-El. Also the son Zod mentions is not Faora's son. His first wife died when Kandor is destroyed along with his son. Davis is a clone from the hair Zod has.

  • See to me this is the best episode besides idol. also the orb controls clark because its fused with blue k.(which takes away his powers).

  • Re: what's worth watching over

Clark and Olliver in the desert,

The hint of a "My igeneous plan that no-one suspects is coming together perfectly" smile on Tess's face at 3 points, after

    - Zod thinks JorEl is the blur

    - Zod has just removed JorEl from her basement

    - Clark nearly choked her to death, worth a re-viewing in it's own right

And Zod is smiles because finding Clark makes his goal of powers a step closer.

Clones are lame, but time travel would have been worse.

  • Did we actually see it hurt him though? If you take a look at that scene, all it does is glow and Clark steps backwards. He didn't have a look of pain like he would if it was, say, green kryptonite. I think he just backed away because he was afraid of what it would do, not because it actually caused him physical pain.
