In this video I talk about and show the most basic logic gates which together can form complex circuits.

Okay.. Sorry if I caused you any stress

  • @supertrogdorman5252 You didn't.

  • @yoshielectron That's probably what it is. All I heard you talk about on this video was about the input going to the output and when you flip this switch there isn't any output. I don't really think of switches that turn on lights to be digital. It just sounds like circuits to me

  • @supertrogdorman5252 I should have perhaps explained better. Logic gates are circuits which produce an output based on its inputs-the logic gates are made up of transistors. But you can simulate some of the logic functions just with simple switches, so your reasoning was correct.

  • @yoshielectron

When you start to turn it down the amount of vibration picked up by the pickups is lessened. (I think) The pickups still pick up the same but the amount that reaches the output is less. When the knob is set to zero the vibration picked up by the pick-ups is stopped and doesn't reach the output

  • @supertrogdorman5252 That sounds more like an analogue control rather than digital

Where you talk an "all" switch, it sounds something like the volume knob on the guitar which doesn't actually affect the volume unlike the volume knob on the amplifier. I'm not really sure why it says volume on it...

I guess so, what you're explaining here sounds more like what is dubbed the "killswitch" which isn't common on most guitars having two pickups means having two killswitches which can open the circuit in between the pickup which would be the input to the output where you plug in a cable.

  • @supertrogdorman5252 That's interesting although they are probably just switches that act like logic gates.

  • So this is pretty much the same technology used to switch inbetween the magnetic pick-ups on an electric guitar it seems. I have 2 electric guitars one with 2 pick-ups with a switch that has three posistions and one with 3 pick-ups and switch with five posistions
