  • @MysticalCity: U SAID ONCE THAT IT IS NOT IMPORTANT TO HONOR ICONS and that we do not go to paradise or not for doing so.

LET'S SEE WHAT THE HOLY FATHERS SAID:

"Believing in one God Who is celebrated in the Holy Trinity, we salute and venerate the honorable holy icons. Those who do not so hold, let them be ANATHEMA"

We honor the venerable ICONS. We place under ANATHEMA those who do not do this.

SO ALL ARE UNDER ANATHEMA who do not honor and venerate the HOLY ICONS.

  • @MysticalCity: EASTERN CHURCH!

U posted much nonsense! U said latin was important - NO IT WAS NOT. OLD GREEK IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE CHURCH.

All theological TERMS ARE FROM OLD GREEK: THEOTOKOS, SOTERIOLOGY, THEO-LOGY, HYPOSTASE, OUSIA, BIBLE (form BIBLOS) GENESIS (birth in greek), EVANGELION, ...EUCHARISTIA, LITOURGIA,

All this is BASED ON OLD GREEK and not latin.

KYRIE ELEISON, ...even in Rome they used GREEK FOR THE SERVICES!

Without the eastern church - NOTHING

  • @MysticalCity: SO AGAIN - the RCC has SET ASIDE THE TRADITION OF THE FATHERS!

The ORTHODOX CHURCH until this day - KEEPS THAT CANON which was approved by Synods.

The CHURCH FATHERS quote "eastern orthodox" - THEY ALL SPEAK ABOUT EASTERN ORTHODOX! Why do u think St. John of Damscus called his Dogmatic booK.

EXACT EXPOSITION OF THE ORTHODOX FAITH? Why the Popes unceasingly speak about the ORTHODOX TEACHING?

Why do u think the latin Fathers LOOKED TO THE EASTERN FATHERS?

  • @MysticalCity: AGAIN St. BASIL's CANON.

.....with that which is good, and then after exhibiting some fruit of repentance, let them be restored to the status of persons entitled to communion.

This was approved by the 4th, 6th, and 7th Ecumenical Councils

SO THIS IS THE TRADITION OF THE CHURCH! WE ORTHODOX FOLLOW THAT TRADITION.

When someone may marries a SECOND TIME - WE ARE NOT HAPPY - and those are under the Canon BUT AFTER SOME TIME THEY ARE RESTORED TO COMPLETE COMMUNION.

  • @MysticalCity: CANON OF ST. BASIL THE GREAT ON RE-MARRIAGE:

"We have taken to the custom of condemning trigamists to five years excommunication not on the ground of any canon but only on the ground of usage followed by those who have preceded us. But it behooves us not to exclude them entirely from the Church, but instead to entitle them to listening in some two years or three, and thereafter to permit them to co-standers, though obliged to abstain from communion....

  • @MysticalCity: THE RCC IS A HERETIC SECT - this SECT HAS SET ASIDE THE TRADITION OF THE HOLY FATHERS

St. Clement of Alexandria concerning RE-MARRIAGE:

One who marries a second time is not sinning, but he is not fulfilling the demands of evangelical perfection. It does him heavenly glory if he keeps the marriage tie sundered by death untainted by gladly obeying the economy

So WHO HAS LEFT THE CHURCH'S TRADITION?

    WOW - u ARE A SECT!

  • @MysticalCity Catholics allow annulments. It's the same as a divorce.

  • @MysticalCity Quotes about what?

  • @magnus56j i brought it up before, of course in RARE cases, rare cases does not mean 2,3 marriages like orthodoxy, please quote for the contraception, NOT CONCEPTION

still waiting for early church quotes on 'eastern orthodox"

  • @MysticalCity Actually the Orthodox do not allow 4th and 5th marriages at all, no exceptions. But it looks like you contradicted what you said earlier about saying the CC not allowing divorce or remarriage at all. They do allow it as you said in cases of rape, which is domestic violence. So, I guess the CC isn't totally against divorce and remarriage as you said. They also do allow conception control, in the case of NFP. NFP is new idea. Early Christians didn't have the tools to practice NFP.
