Rattlesnake in my front yard

On Friday 6-30-06 at around 10 p.m., my parents told me to throw out the trash. I went out my front entrance. I kept walking towards the gate but I noticed what i thought was a trail of water. After dumping the trash, I walked back the same path but nticing the trail of water. I asked myself where the water had come from. Then one end moved and I quickly shaped out a snake. So I called my brother and dad out to see it. We concluded that it was a rattler. My mom had called the animal control. It had been about 40 minutes til they came. The animal control lady came out of her truck with a stick or tool that they use to capture it. So heres a clip of what happened after she caught it with the tool. i'm in CA for those of you that were asking.

this is in California?? Who's the brainless animal control officer that killed this snake? What's with the lame excuse that she can't take it out into the wild to release it?? Let's go to her house and kill her dog.. How would she feel about that?

yea, i thought it was a lame excuse too. i dont kno too much about snakes but a while ago ( i think i hav the video on here) we had a garden snake or something. it was the harmless kind. we called animal control and it had already been an hour and all of my neighbors were comin home from work. and one of them took the snake and put him in a bin.

he had a large wound though. and released him out in the hills and then the animal control finally arrived and they old us to get him bak becuz his wound is gonna get infected so he wouldnt hav a chance. luckily he was in the same spot and she took him in her truck and drove off. anyways, if u can watch the video. peace.

Then why worry they only want WATER as do all living creatures. The next one I like is "they typically don't bother people but if you startle them...... im against this but she didnt have a choice, because the snake is so dangerous the company insurance didnt allow them to handle the snakes so they had to kill them on the spot or once they got back to the shelter, they changed that though, now they can relocate them.

If it's the animal control agency's policy to kill all rattlesnakes, there isn't much the officer can do but follow that policy. The animal control department I'm with would capture and relocate the rattlesnake a short distance away, hopefully away from any homes, something I've done myself many times, using the snake tongs or snake hook, not the catch pole as seen in this video.
