AoC rules all MMOs, period !! Happily returned to this game

Wrong dude. I played gw2, tera, wow, swtor, rift and lotro. All of these games for quite a while, some to endgame. AoC IS special in forms of gameplay. Heck, it is completely different, due to the combosystem. and the hardmodes that offer more interesting gameplay if you compare it to other any of the other games.

In my experience funcom is also quite responsive to players demands. Yes, they often ignore the pvp-crowd. But so what? they are a tiny minority anyway.

Sure, this is certainly a concern for some. I don't really care abot pvp anyway, though.

The combat system is still great, but it doesn't matter when Gear makes such a huge impact as it does. If items didn't effect PvP, the pvp servers would be far more populated than they are now. Even more so if they actually put world pvp oblectives in place and fixed sieges. Gw2 might not have as rewarding a combat system but the WvW the fact that there is no item grind (for stats) makes it a better choice for PvP minded players.

Not true. Spells and ranger attacks are locked on. You cannot dodge them. Though the combat system is very skill oriented compared to other mmos, the gear dependency (thanks to 1.04) completely undermines it. An average player with the best gear will destroy a great player with average gear. That's one of several reasons the game has died out.

I concur. I have a lot of bitterness toward Funcom for destroying this game's potential. I was the biggest fanboy for AOC there ever was. After Craig took over the game became wowified (item revamp) and PvP was destroyed. If they would have stuck to the original vision of the game it would be doing much better than it is now.
