The Assassination of Jesse James - Bob's Side

This was fifty times harder than it should have been, and things still aren't quite right. They never are, it seems... But here is my first in what I'm sure are to be a few tributes to one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen, and a cheated-of-an-Oscar-worthy-performance by Casey Affleck. This whole film was cheated of acknowledgement, I feel. As it is, I couldn't find a song with lyrics that I thought fit very well to the vid, so I used one of the many perfect songs from the soundtrack. Hope that doesn't make it too boring :)

The end of this video says "Part 1", and that is because I originally wanted to add a second, shorter part to the video following what happens to Bob. But, I decided not to kill myself just yet, and not to make a horribly long video that likely no one would watch. So Part 2 should come, eventually, when I have time...

No, it's not boring! This song is perfect for this MV. Bob is a tragic figure in cinema history. I felt so sorry for him at the end.

I feel as though this video builds the motive of revenge and anger in Bob's killing of Jesse James. It's very convincing. However, I think that Bob suffers from a strong personal envy of Jesse and his everlasting desire to be a legend of Jesse James' stature. The story grows upon Bob's inability to cope with himself in the shadow of his idol. This culminates in his fear and longing to be greater that leads him to kill Jesse. It is one of the greatest character struggles ever portrayed in film..

it's funny how this film isn't really about Jesse but more about Robert. The film starts near the end of Jesse's carreer and ends after his death. He appears almost to be a ghost. Fleeting in and out of scenes.
