How To Create Glinted/Shinny Text In Flash, in this tutorial i will be showing you how to create this in a few steps.

Follow instructions in video if you did not understand here is written tutorial:

1. Change you background to black, also change the name from 'Layer 1' to Text. Now write you text for example i write ImStuck, change the font to a greyish colour, number is #9999999 etc, Now centre your text

2. Create a new layer and named in Shine or what ever you want so you know what it is, now once finished drag it under the text, Now get the rectangle tool and create a rectangle of the frame across it to the other side with just a little bit of the rectangle above the text and below the text.

3. Now select the rectangle, and go over to the corner in section colour, click type and then press linear grab the white arrow to the middle and create a new arrow by clicking on the timeline thing, and then dragging it to the right, Now create 2 new arrows either side of the white arrow and position them close to the white one, now change the colour of all the black ones to the greyish colour from before (#999999)

4. Now go over to the Gradient Transform Tool, now see the little arrow pointing right click their where the end of your text is, now the circle on the right hand side of it click that and rotate it, so it is on the side which creates a very nice effect

5. Right-click Text from your timeline and go onto mask as you can see the Text and Shine have combined together, now go on the timeline see the first frame click that now get your rectangle all the way over to the left, so it is just about covering the text, now click frame 20 and press F6 which will create a keyframe and do the same with the rectangle but this time go right.

6. Now go in the middle of the frames, my is 10, right click and go on motion tween, now you can see your rectangle is in the middle, now go on Test Movie and you should have a pretty desent shine effects created in 5 minutes.
