  • Mel, really enjoyed your vid's but regarding your putting video don't we all have a tendency to form a shallow arc naturally when putting, not a straight line, esp for longer putts.

    Thanks

    James

  • I agree that as the putts get longer there is a definite arc. However, i have found this method to be really good for putts 5 feet and in. The magic distance!

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

    Regards,

    Mel.

  • if you really want to putt beter look at Geoff Magnum's videos! taking 6 weeks for this? LMAO

  • that stroke looks like crap no offence -.-

don't you end up going from square to closed by doing that? And then trying to get back to square? omg who listens to this crap anyway... a waste of 8 years if you ask me!

  • that stroke looks like crap no offence -.-

  • why only 5 feet and in? if you advocate this method surely you would teach it for longer putts as well?

  • @golfschools

magic distance is more 2-10 feet

after that the stats show that the amount of putts made outside of 10 feet falls pretty low, its where you putt from, not how you putt!

  • Like it!

  • @golfschools 5 feet and in you must a red hot putter lmao i presume you don't ever want a birdie or not many anyway or u just stiff it everytime?

  • As I have said in earlier posts, the putter arcs on putts over 5 feet, but on short putts under 5 feet I have found this method to be far better, not only for me but for most of the students I teach. The higher the handicap the more difficult it is to time the putter just right with an open to closed method.
