German Preacher's Thoughts on American Christians and Politics

There is a fundamental truth that you do not hear on the campaign trail of Mitt Romney or Barack Obama although it determines laws, policies, and the tone of the overall political conversation. It is a cornerstone of the Biblical world view and I have not heard Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich or Barack Obama talk about it.
What are the consequences of leaving this truth out? How does it shape the parties and their agendas.

I appreciate your passion and commitment to Christ, but your thesis is lacking. 1. U.S. law dictates that religion has no place in government and vice versa. 2. The Declaration of Independence is a message for King George III, and has no legal standing and is largely symbolic. 3. Scripture is a guide, and is not to be taken literally. 4. Republican evangelicals influence on the electorate is waning. 5. Santorum and Bachmann will never be a major party nominee for anything. They are extremists.
