@Driftxcore I'm French, maybe if you watch some videos about Muslims in Europe (particularly in France and Britain) you'll have a better understanding as to where I'm coming from regarding Islam. You may also be interested in watching the Muslim protest at the Danish Embassy in London. Also search for the burqa ban in Europe. At the end, I guarantee you, you'll be outraged by the behavior of these people and maybe not so sorry for the woman in this video.
@mcmlxvi Yeah I still give people the benefit of the doubt :/ lol. If you don't mind me asking, but where are you from? I've never personally experienced Islam. I think being aware and educating people on what is happening, around the world is a step in the right direction. Minimal risk but could cause waves in the future. Saying nothing and playing dumb is a lot worse, knowing this is bad and voicing concern, get's people thinking.. and the only way great change can happen is education.
@Driftxcore I totally understand what you say. I used to think like you do, but after having to share with these people I am sad to say that it doesn't work that way. When it comes to Islam, nothing you know is applicable, they will say and do ANYTHING to gain your trust just to stab you in the back without blinking. I do believe there are good people among them, but for us to find them we would have to lower our defenses and that is a risk nobody is willing to take. It's a rotten world.
@Driftxcore These people are victims to extremists, who've taken advantage of their devotion (to their beliefs) and trust. I'm not going to hate a blind person who can't see. There'll be a group of people who know Sharia is wrong, a women who's forced into a marriage she doesn't want, people punished for unintentionally being different and if that's just 2 or 3 people out of millions, it's worth aiming to give them the basic human rights we take for granted.
@mcmlxvi A lot of the people who want Sharia law think that their ideals are the way to live. If someone respected say's "this is how it should be, based on this rule/reading and you should know this because you associate yourself with us and we are one people" you would feel obliged to listen and obey. It just so happen's that most religions are black and white, however the world isn't and there is a fine line for good and evil, it's unfair.
@Driftxcore And BTW, as we speak, the transitional government in Libya which by now has become another Islamic Republic just as Iran, has approved polygamy as allowed under Sharia Islamic law. I tell you, just to think that young European soldiers actually risked their lives to free Libya from Gaddafi so these subhuman animals could have more than one wife, makes me sick.
@Driftxcore Well, look at Libya, now they are in the very same political position Iran was back in 1979, they have an opportunity to establish a multiparty democratic with guaranteed civil rights, but that's not what they want, they want Sharia law and an Islamic Republic. 30 years from now, will you feel sorry for them? Probably. But the truth is that they've got what they deserve.
@mcmlxvi I was horrified with the social issues and gender roles, it's ridiculous, but I don't think you can blame Iran for those decisions made in 1979. It sounds like collective consciousness...I mean if more than 1,000,000 are willing to band together for a a "greater" cause, I'd be right in there too. It's just disheartening that individuals will use faith and religion to dictate people, ruling with fear :S it makes me nervous.
i feel sorry for that woman:(
