My model rail layout virtually complete. It's surprising what you can make on a 6" by 6'6" shelf. It's obviously not competition standard but I enjoyed building it and I hope you enjoy watching.

  • Great! Where did you get the Turbostar from?

  • I checked out suppliers on the web and finally found a shop in Swansea! I'm thinking of designating my current layout to 'yesteryear' and building another 'shelf' for a more modern look that would include the MDU.

  • Super small layout, you've made my mind up about doing a layout in my shop using your idea on a N gauge layout on a shelf.

    cheers kevin

  • Glad to have sparked off ideas! The layout was a bit of a challenge but people seem to like the result. Good luck with your efforts. Will you put the result on YouTube?

  • @Nicholas2472 It's not likely. I nearly always muck up points when I do that! This way I find it easier to service the layouts.

  • Hi like your model railway, just want to know if you'r going to ballast the track? Its just as good anyway

  • It's taken from free pictures on the Internet! I removed a lot of sky and a bit of foreground then printed one, flipped the picture horizontally and printed that and so on. That meant that the edges of the pictures always matched! Printer is a Epson Stylus DX4050. Hope that helps.

  • The background is very nice! Did you print that out from a picture? If so, what kind of printer did you use?
