The song " Nuclear Madness" by Joseph Lee Hooker was inspired by the book with the same title written by Dr. Helen Caldicott. The song was first performed live in Washington D.C. at a anti-nuclear rally on May 6,1979 where Dr. Caldicott was a guest speaker."Nuclear Madness" is on the album"Hello World"by Joseph Lee Hooker released in spring 2011.It also is on You tube uploaded in March 2011.

Back in the eighties when I was in high school the 'good' Doctor basically told my entire generation NOT to bother planning for the future because there would be NO future. Don't both going to school, don't bother going to college or worrying about anything we'd never live to see the year 2000. Thanks Doc.

How could an educated person even post such a dumb-ass comment?
Thanks for posting this interview with the great Dr. Calidicott. I, too, wish she was in a position of real authority somewhere in the world.

when this woman speaks, the rest of the world shuts up! she's wise and might be a bit of an alarmist, but which other can someone make asinine Americans pay attention? Americans are destroying the globe with their pollution, weapons and horrible movies. They need to be stopped. Great job, Dr. Helen! Keep it up.
