Local variations have nothing to do with the global warming. "Global" is the key word here, it's the whole planet's average temperature that's increasing. Pretty basic stuff I'm sure you will see explained in wikipedia for instance.

I recommend you check out the National Snow and Ice Data Center for their report on the Artic and Antartic. Their data shows our the decreasing ice of the Artic indicates that the planet is warming significantly.

@AlaskaFreeman More than 98 percent of all glaciers in the world are melting, according to the scientists, NASA and so on. And the global average temperature is rising, according to thermometers all over the world and measurements by satellites. There are virtually no serious scientists who deny that the earth is heating up anymore. The solar activity crap they spew out is all crap, because the solar activity is very low now but the temperature is rising anyway. Look it up, in wiki for instance.

I tried to think of an explaination I could fit into 500 characters, but you really just need to start with basic climate science. Take some courses or seld-educate yourself from reputable text books, then look at your statement and realize how incredibly ignorant it is.
