  • Really interesting to hear how someone else plays it! Good job anyway sounds nice

  • near the beginning you focus sooo much on the first note of each measure. diversity?

  • @mr4748a what, youve been playin for years and never had thumb position? its not insane in any way, although the performance was very good, i just hope you understand that thumb position is very stationary and is almost required for particular music that goes into higher positions for multiple obvious reasons.

  • Im a cellist, and have been playing for years, but have never tried playing with my thumbs! Insane! great job, and long live the cello.

  • I play the mandolin and play this piece transcribed for it. When I watch cellists, I just can't imagine shifting positions on the thing - it's like a foot! I'd be up on the bridge of my mandolin if I did that! My hat is off to cello players everywhere. Love cello but could not play it if my life depended on it!

  • Wonderfully played! I am a pianist, but I've always had a fondness for cello. i always thought that Bach was sheer genius to write suites for just the cello, without accompaniment or anything. That way, the world can hear the beauty and sound that is the cello. Mr. Fritz you did an excellent job with this piece. :)

  • Good Playing!

Let me give a couple of opinions . Place the mic nearer the source. You'll get more detail and articulation. Also, I prefer a steady tempo for Bach. Loren plays in a more "romantic" style. That's cool though. Many great cellist freely use rubato. For me, Bach is like "talking" where as Brahms is like "singing". So articulation is a major variable. It's more about "longer-shorter" and less about "faster-slower". Just my 2cents. Check out my version of this work.

    BRAVO LOREN!

  • you seemed to be enjoying yourself at least. i think i just don't like this piece

  • Fantastic! Wonderful performance. This is among the best I have heard. Lovely phrasing.
