At Last Etta James

Have some respect Etta!! There was a time Beyonce honoured you. Songs "BELONG" to the writer and composer, not someone who in a jelous tanty claims to be theirs.

I think it was a slap in the face to Etta James for her not to sing her own song at the inauguration. Aretha Franklin sang there and she's not "young, hot, or relevent" as they say(although I think she is). I like Beyonce, but I think they should have called Etta to do it, besides no one can top the originator!

At Last was not Etta James's song. She's not even the first person to record it. She wasn't even the second to record it. She just had the most memorable cover of it. And beyonce had just done it for the movie she was in, so it was fitting, not a slap in the face to anyone.

At Last is not Etta James song.. She did a cover of the song just like Beyonce did... nor can she hold those same notes anymore...

I still like Christina Aguilera version more.

If Michael Jackson and Etta James did this song for a competitiion, MJ wouldn't tand a chance. No offense MJ, but I believe the creater of a song is better at singing it more than anybody in the entire universe!

Shes not dead nor has her voice been compromised over the years. She still perfoms and tours so it was a slap in the face that they did not ask her or at least include her in some way into the inauguration. Its her voice that has been crossing over and at EVERY damn wedding for the last 50 years she is STILL relevant. and btw im a young Chicago girl. no one sings on a octave that is comparable to hers..No one!

I think Beyonce is waaaaayyyyyy overrated, this is the real thing!!!

I'd agree that Etta James 'owns' At Last. That said, the version Phoebe Snow sings on NY Rock & Soul Review album is worth hearing. She is sensational.
