Some key points to consider that the dollar may have some sustainablity in it's current rally. Perception is what drives a market. Here's a link to OECD:

China in a bubble, dollar is still the world's reserve currency and fears of other nation's debt may continue the dollar rally certainly for the next few months.

  • Good to see you.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks man!

  • Thanks for the info. Glad to see you back in action. The global economy is sort of like a chess game during an impending earthquake.

  • What a terrific analogy! LOL!

  • Indeed prepare while you can.

I am still in the Job search mode, but I must say this time "off" allows me to research things like I have never been able to do. I imagine many work a day folks that have little time to do much but work, eat and sleep and get their news from MSM are going to be out in the cold so to speak. Hard to know how the info slides out though. I keep thinking I should move, but to where? Then there would be the issue of selling the house YIKES

  • when will dollar not be global currency ?

if china needs to buy, they need dollars !

dow is not constant cause expectations change... who expected Obama to fail ?

  • dollar goes up = dow goes down (and vice versa)

  • Great insight...thanks ;)

  • Geat analysis networkingman.

I've exited most of my metals stocks and moved into SH (short the S&P) until I see how the metals stocks shake out durring the market pullback.

Now is a time to watch, not a time to get greedy IMHO.

  • lizafuel, gold and silver may not directly be the reserve currency. Whatever currency, in the not too distant future, is the reserve currency will have to be backed by gold and/or silver. WTSHT, no one will trust fiat currencies any more. I feel that gold and silver will be the reserve currency, directly.

  • I'm not sure the markets are any safe indicator of the near future, as the situation is very tenuous and could collapse or unhinge at any time. In any case, I agree with your overall assessment. I think we're in for a rough ride. I'm hoping they can keep the wheels on the economy for as long as possible, as more time will allow me to prepare further. think if people aren't prepared for long-term (decades) survival, then they will not really survive. They'll die in pain and having to work.

  • I agree totally, I hope we have another year. I hope silver goes back down to 10-12 so I can buy more.
